Woods Capital Signs Ascension Coffee at Thanksgiving Tower
Woods Capital is pleased to announce Ascension Coffee is opening its third location in the ground-floor lobby of Thanksgiving Tower adjacent to Elm Street in downtown Dallas. Ascension has been a Dallas Design District hot spot since 2008 and recently opened at The Crescent. This 2,600-square-foot location is slated to open in early 2017 and will include a large outdoor patio with seating for 100.
“We’re excited to welcome Ascension to the building. It’s an innovative company that shares our enthusiasm for downtown and this location will add a wealth of options for our tenants and the larger downtown community,” said Jonas Woods, owner of Woods Capital. “Our extensive, curb-to-core renovation is expected to deliver in January 2017 and Ascension Coffee will be an effortless fit.”
Ascension’s interior and exterior designs will take advantage of the building’s new aesthetic, which includes striking glass, abundant light and dramatic ceiling height, in order to create an iconic space that connects the patron to the city.
“We believe in the energy of urban areas, so we jumped at the opportunity to be a part of the transformation both at Thanksgiving Tower and in the Main Street District. We are extremely focused on creating an Ascension experience that feels authentic to the Downtown vibe and community,” said the company’s founder, Russell Hayward.
The Downtown location will have a menu similar to the Design District original, with full-service breakfast and lunch and lighter dinner options. It will feature state-of-the-art coffee equipment, a full premium bar and extensive wine list as well as extended weekend hours.
Amy Maclaren and Jack Gosnell with CBRE UCR negotiated the lease. Gerdes Henrichson & Associates is designing the space. Currently, Thanksgiving Tower has 434,000 square feet of leasable space remaining in the building.
